Miura Haruma
is one of the most versatile young actors in Japan. He's only 17 (at the time of this writing) and he's one of the brightest stars on the horizon! This past autumn he co-starred in the smash movie, Koizora, a tear-jerker in every sense of the word. Without him as Hiro,  the movie would not have packed such an emotional punch. Before that, he portrayed Hiro's polar opposite, Satoshi Kirino (Kiri-chan),  a 15-year-old father, in the controversial television drama, 14-sai-no-ha (14-year-old-Mother). He also had the starring role in the surfer/coming-of-age movie, Catch a Wave and he was cast as the most curious child in the Wowow drama, Children. However, Haruma-kun captured my attention years earlier  when he portrayed Jotaro in the NHK Taiga drama, Musashi. Although he wasn't an ugly duckling by any stretch of the imagination, he was clearly a work in progress and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

He's currently featured in Binbo Danshi with Oguri Shun. His character, Shiraishi Ryo, is nothing short of amazing. He's 17 and burdened with paying off the 10 million yen debt his parents incurred. Haruma-kun will also be featured in the upcoming Spring 2008 drama, Gokusen 3

Haruma-kun has also released two movies this year. Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge is an independent film depicting him as a bad boy. I haven't seen the movie because I wasn't willing to brave the snow to try to make my way to the theaters that show indie films. His other movie, Naoko, in which he co-stars with Juri Ueno was released on Feb. 16, 2008). It was absolutely brilliant! If you haven't seen it, you need to do so as soon as possible.

Mirua Haruma Watch
is a private journal, not a community. It's just a nice little place where I can keep track of this emerging superstar. This is my first fan girl effort, so if you like Haruma-kun, too, please feel free to drop in.

I don't have a friends policy or anything. Usually I just click on "friend this person," but that doesn't guarantee I'll ever see your journal. It's not that I don't care. However, I made this journal for my Miura Haruma adoration. It's flagrant fan girl gushing. I leave the cold hard world stuff to my regular email inbox.  Lots of stuff here is locked, mostly because this journal is for me and my Haruma-kun adoration. If you wish to join me on Haruma's Planet, come on in.

For more information about Miura Haruma, take a peep at his official website. It's fun!

Samurai High School is ending tonight (12/12) and Bloody Monday 2 is slated for January 2010.

What little there was of Haruma was of course... good. He was also extremely pretty and/or handsome.

However, I'm not sure this episode will go over well with the general population. Running...killing... dying... politicking...hmmm...

Hmm... I want last week's corpse back....

I didn't really have time to absorb Bloody Monday after I watched the first episode last night because there are so many pleasant distractions in my house. This morning though, I managed to wrap my head around a few things. Since I'm not really in the mood to do a full-fledged or even half-baked recap, I'll write mostly about Haruma's acting chops. After all, I adore Haruma best when he's working.

Back again... many pictures from this morning's (1-23-2010) episode of 王様のブランチ。

My commentary does not match what they said because I actually wasn't listening. :D

Ladies, I am very happy to be back!

I know I've been gone too long. Real life kicks butt! Even so, I still keep up with our boy!! My drive is full of his latest interviews. Despite being ridiculously busy, I did peep at them. I'm still busy converting as many Japanese women with thick wallets as I can to his cause!!!

I'm geared up and ready for Bloody Monday 2 although I'm sure I'll have to watch most episodes recorded (conflicts with basketball games).

I had a spare moment earlier today and I snapped a few photos from Tokyo Park Friends II and I'll paste them here. Unfortunately, they aren't nearly as good as previous photos. I guess I need a new camera.  Anyway... enjoy

12th-Dec-2009 01:37 pm - Samurai High ends tonight
Infinite miura
When I woke up this morning, I had all of these plans to do a Haruma-gush-fest, but that was killed by my LoveUnit reminding me that we had real life stuff to do together. Naturally, I wouldn't scoff at spending time with LoveUnit and even he lamented that Samurai High School was ending tonight. He still doesn't give Haruma many props, but he laughs or comments in all the right places, so I won't badger him about it. I was also rather pleasantly surprised when he asked if I had found time to do any SHS related projects.

I have not, but that does not mean I cannot. Just because the drama is over, doesn't I've had a significant Haruma fix. In fact, I expect that this fangirl will be quite down until Bloody Monday 2.

For the life of me, I just don't know why this child haunts me so. I mean, I don't want anything from him except to see him on my television. I don't particularly want to meet him (I am way too adult for any encounter), I don't want to sex him up and I don't want his children, yet I *must* see him... working! Weird.

I suppose a real fangirl shouldn't contemplate this stuff, so I'm wiping it out of my head right now.

All right. I'm off to do something adult until the drama airs. I'll be free to a couple of weeks post 12/16, thus, I will contemplate a project. Maybe I'll write some fiction.

Yikes! I have been neglecting my Haruma adoration far too much. Unfortunately, I have friends in crisis and various strains of influenza to contend with in real life, but damn it, I will be back!!! Few things in life (excluding those things enjoyed with my spousal unit), make me happier than fawning over Haruma!

Haruma's back on television and I'll be back on livejournal. I just love, love, love this boy!!
26th-Apr-2009 05:10 pm - Off-off-off topic: A weather event
pretty2 Hiro
Normally, I wouldn't post non-Haruma-related news, however, I needed this documented somewhere. It's April 26, 2009 in Northern Japan and it's snowing. Snowing, I tell you, snowing! It's not rain, it's snow. I wish I could be surprised, but it's normal for there to be snow this late in the game up here on Winter Island. Thankfully, the Sakura didn't blossom like they did last year. As you can imagine, they were unceremoniously murdered by the white stuff.  I wonder if Summer will visit in late July or early August this year. Visit is all it does.

hope Haruma is warmer down South although the massive low pressure must be sending him and YT a lot of rain!

Sometimes, the God of Time will not give me the time of day. Honestly. Why must I be busy day in and day out? Ordinarily I wouldn't complain except busy-ness interferes with my Haruma adoration. Thankfully, I managed to snag a moment this morning. I grabbed my guy and we zoomed on over to Cinema 12 to see Haruma in Crows Zero II. At least, that's why I went. My guy went to appease me. Take my word for it, the last thing he wants to do is see gratuitous violence at 9:15 in the morning, but there you have it.

Crows Zero II was a heck of a lot better than CZ1. I suppose that has something to do with it being an original story that utilized the Crows characters. I don't think it's related to the manga. Maybe. In any case, it was significantly more interesting although I wouldn't go so far as to say that quality acting was a necessity. I still found it amusing and laughed at random strings of bull spewed by one or more of the boy-men.
